GZD Badminton Club was founded in 2024 by Brenda JM, starting with a handful of friends who shared a passion for badminton and wanted to build a club with a real sense of community in Manchester. What began as casual sessions at Sugden Sports Centre has grown into a club that will compete in the Manchester Badminton League, with a growing roster of members ranging from social players to competitive regulars. Today, GZD Badminton Club runs regular training sessions, hosts internal tournaments, and continues to welcome new players who want to improve their game and be part of a supportive badminton community.

Brenda moved to Manchester in 2024 and, as a working professional looking for a good way to unwind after work, decided to start GZD Badminton Club. The club was built with fellow working professionals in mind: a friendly, sociable space to enjoy badminton in the evenings after a long day at work. She organises sessions, league matches, and club tournaments, and is always happy to welcome new members into the GZD community.
